Uganda is one of the best places to visit in Africa as well as it is also one of the best places to visit in the world. Uganda is called pearl of Africa and is fairy-tale. Bordering countries of Uganda are Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of the Congo. Kampala is capital city of Uganda which is built around seven hills near the shores of Lake Victoria. Most of Uganda is located on a plateau. Highest point of Uganda is Margherita Peak(5,109 metres)  which is covered by snow and glaciers. Second highest peak point is Mount Elgon (4,321 metres). Lake Victoria of Uganda is the second largest inland freshwater lake after Lake Superior in North America. Lake Victoria is also main source of Nile River.  Other five beautiful lakes of Uganda’s are Edward, Albert, Victoria Nile, Kyoga and Albert Nile each of them provides life time experience to its visitors. There are herds of lions and leopards in animal preserves and national parks of Uganda. Lakes and rivers of Uganda provide ideal environment to Hippopotamuses and crocodiles. Mountain gorillas and chimpanzees live in extreme west. Buffalo, elephants and the Uganda kob (an antelope) are in west and north. black rhinoceros and giraffes are limited to north. topis, zebras, elands, and roan antelopes are confined to the the northeastern and southern grasslands. There is large number of species of birds in Uganda’s national parks. Mostly areas of southern Uganda has been deforested but a significant areas has been placed in its 10 national parks. Murchison Falls National Park, Victoria Nile. Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park are most famous national parks of Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is declared as World Heritage site in 1994 by UNESCO.

 Kidepo Valley National Park, Karamoja region (Uganda)

Kaabong district of Uganda which is located in north eastern region has great Kidepo valley national park which offers opportunity of most beautiful wilderness experiences to its brave visitors. A visitor can explorer the 77 species of mammals and 463 species of birds. spotted hyena, the greater and lesser kudu, black and white and side-stripped jackal, cheetah, Burchell’s Giraffe, , leopards, lions, and Chandlers mountain reedbuckCarcal, Klipspringer are most common wildlife of this park. Most popular attractions in this park for the tourist are Game viewing, the Kidepo River and the Narus River. A visitor can experience wildlife so closely in this Park.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park


The most power full attraction of this area is  mountain gorilla trekking. There are 6 gorilla trekking sectios.

Ruhija gorilla sector
Rushaga gorilla sector
Nyundo gorilla sector
Ruburigi gorilla sector

Buhoma and Nkuringo are most visiting sectors. Best season to visit this area is from June to October and from December to March. Gorilla habituation occur in Rushaga gorilla sector.
 There are 160 species of trees and 100 species of fun in this area of 32,000 ha. This World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO in 1994 is very dense. it can be visited only on foot. This park is located in Southwestern Uganda and is known as home of hundreds mountain gorillas. There are 100 mammal species and 300 birds species in this park. Main activities of this parks are hiking, nature walks, Gorilla tracking, bird watching and mountain biking

Queen Elizabeth National Park, Western (Uganda)

As compare to other Uganda parks Queen Elizabeth National Park has the widest variety of wildlife and is most popular savannah reserve. From big five only rhino is absent. It also explores the beauty of chimp trekking. Its Ishasha sector explores the Tree-climbing lions while savannah areas have the herds of buffalo and elephant. Kazinga channel has large number of hippos. Best season to visit this park is dry season which is from  January to February and June to July.
It is located in western part of Uganda and is most popular visiting place. There are 95 species of mammals and 500 species of birds are main attractions for tourists. game viewing, chimp tracking, nature walks in Maramagambo Forest, hiking and boat rides on Kazinga Channel are main activities in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Murchison Falls National Park



Murchison Falls National Park is a natural surprise found in northwest Uganda. The water arises as of the Victoria Nile River. These falls are compared to the Canada’s Nahanni National Park’ falls by some people. These falls can view from top as well as from the from a boat safari. Both points provide unique view. The parks contain huge grasslands and forests. It is the most visiting point of Uganda as well as of Africa. It is the home of major mammals and explores the four out of big five. It has the largest population of Roskilde Giraffes in Africa. Chimpanzees and crocodiles are also in huge quantity in this area. This place offers over 70 African mammal species and 450 recorded bird species. From December to February and June to September are best months to visit this area. It is heaven for wildlife lovers because it is largest park of country located in Northwestern Uganda.

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in located  in South West Uganda. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is 33.7 sq. km. This park is at 10 hours drive from Kampal and 6 hours drive from Kigali.
 The Park covers hills of the three northernmost Virunga Volcanoes:
Mt. Muhavura (4,127 m)
Mt. Gahinga (3,474 m)
Mt. Sabinyo (3,645 m)
The park is part of the larger Virunga Conservation area. Virunga Conservation area spreads over the three countries and each of them has protected it’s ares.

Ssese Islands (Uganda)

These islands are located in the northwest of Lake Victoria. Ssese Islands are known as prime destinations of Uganda. The Ssese Archipelago is combination of 84 separate Islands. Two islands of this series receive the tourists whole year one of them is Buggala which is most developed and accessible.  Vervet monkey is the record common big mammal on Buggala

Nyungwe Forest national park  (Uganda)

Major lasting tract of montane rainforest in East Africa is Nyungwe Forest National Park with 1,015km2over the mountainous southwest of Rwanda. 70% supply to the country Rwanda is from this park. It has the largest series of plant species which is about 1050 species and 120  butterfly species. there are 85 mammals 200 orchids, 38 reptiles, and 310 bird species in this park.

Nyungwe forest national park is also known as land of thousand hills. It is one of the largest forests.

The Savannas of Akagera National Park  (Uganda)

At the border with Tanzania Akagera National Park is situated in the north east of Rwanda. Akagera River that flows beside its eastern edge and feeds into labyrinth of lakes of which the main is Lake Ihema. There are 520 speciec of birds in this park. Most common Wildlife of this area are leopards, antelopes including, Maasai girafffes, monkeys,buffalos, the elands, topis,  civets , savannah birds, the hyenas, as well as the serval cats. This is ideal place for animals like leopards, buffalos, elephants, baboons, zebras and hyenas because it has tree-fringed lakes, green grasslands, stunning savannas and dramatic mountains.

Gishwati Forest  (Uganda)

Gishwati Mukura National Park is located beside the Congo Nile in the Northwestern Rwanda and was gazette as a national park in 2015 so it is the newly established conservation area. That it makes Rwanda a home to 4 incredible protected areas. It offer unique verity of wildlife like
Eastern Chimpanzees, Blue monkeys, Black and white colobus monkeys, L’Hoests monkeys, golden monkeys, hyrax, hogs and 130 bird species 20 of which are Albertine Rift endemics. Best time to visit this park is month of June to September and December to February which are dry months. Chimpanzee trekking and Hiking and nature walks are best activities of this park.

Mount Bisoke (Uganda)


Mount Bisoke is the best option for adventurous nature which is also known as Visoke and is one of active volcanoes. Its height is 12,175 ft and  Mount Bisoke lies within the borders of Rwanda. Mount Bisoke is a home to the rare mountain gorillas which are Rwanda’s most valuable tourism resource. It 6 hour halking to Mount Bisoke which is exciting activity. It is enriched with mountain gorillas, golden monkeys, buffalo, elephants, and several bird species. Visitors are allowed to see gorilla at least 10 minutes distance. The Exploding Lake Kivu (Uganda)

There are only three exploding lakes in the world one of them is Lake Kivu. This lake is one of the 20 major lakes in the world. Luxurious beaches and gorgeous, tropical vegetation upraise it as one of the most attractive places in Rwanda. This lake is also risky because it produces methane and some time  volcanic CO2 which are dangerous for human being.
